There is no formal membership or dues structure for the EXCHANGE. Individuals with entrepreneurial aspirations are invited to any of the programs planned or Friday morning work sessions currently held at Smokey Row. Deb Linder's business dream becomes a reality as she opens her own salon.

  • Congratulations goes out to Deb Linder in the opening of Stella's Salon. The salon is located at 1211 A Avenue East. She had nearly 150 show up at her open house in January. The Salon also has a massage therapist and an acupuncturist. Give the salon a call at 641.676.5100.
  • Congratulations goes out to Michael & Jessica Gituma of Kahawa Cup for completing their first year in business in Oskaloosa! Locally roasted fair trade coffee is their business whether you stop in for a pour-over at the counter, a cup to go, or purchase a pound to take home. Well done, local entrepreneurs, on this success!
  • Their Exchange Member Todd Swope has announced his new business venture "Tech Support Todd." Have a problem with your desktop? Not sure how if your wifi it working properly? Not feeling so smart when using your smart phone? Todd can help. Contact information will be posted here soon.
  • The Simba Shop has struck a deal with Fareway Grocery Store. Their Fair Trade coffee (whole bean or ground in one-pound packages) can now be purchased at Fareway or at The Simba Shop where you can also get your morning coffee to go. And, by the way, they roast their coffee on site. Congratulations Mike and Jessica!
  • Rob Taylor of Gleason Taylor & Associates, has launched their new web site. Learn more about this business by visiting them on line. Congratulations Rob!
  • The Grand Opening of "The Simba Shop - Kahawa Cup" is December 16. Their official opening was November 11. Call them at 641.676.7622 and give them your congratulations. Better yet, stop by and enjoy the coffee!
  • (11.06.2015) Some great discussion took place during the past two Friday morning CoWorking meeting times, and it appears there may be some change in the wind. Stay tuned!
  • (10.23.15) Andrew Jensen, on behalf of MCDG, has announced Iowa Wood Preservers is ready to move forward with the latest phase of a major expansion project that will eventually include over $1.1 million in capital investment and several new jobs.
  • (10.22.15) Michael and Jessica Gituma have announced there are a lot of changes in their coffee business, and they're hoping to make an exciting announcement soon about their new endeavor, "The Simba Shop."
